The platform Step 04 of 05

Field deployment.

Installation by trained field crews within defined weather and safety windows.

Where the step sits

Where the design meets the ground.

The other four steps lead here. This is the only one that happens on someone else’s land, in weather, with people on a slope, so we bound it twice: by who installs, and by when installation may proceed.

Development stage

This describes how deployment is designed to be carried out. It is not a record of a Biogeotechnics deployment, and no completed installation, site, or partner is claimed.

Crews

Crews trained on the protocol.

Installation is specified as work for crews trained on the protocol they are running. Application design at step 03 produces a method. A crew that runs it as written is what keeps the batch behind it meaningful.

Windows

Weather is part of the specification.

A defined weather window is part of the installation specification. Fungal networks follow gradients of moisture and food, so conditions at the moment of application decide whether the installation was performed correctly.

Safety

Safety windows bound the work.

Burned slopes and active fuel-work sites carry their own hazards. Safety requirements are one of the inputs each pilot is developed around, and they set the outer limit on when a crew is on the ground regardless of schedule.

Field foundation

The experience underneath this step.

Before founding Biogeotechnics, Galen Scott worked in fungal cultivation and field deployment at Boulder Mushroom during 2024. He produced inoculum and liquid cultures, deployed liquid slurry and colonized substrates, improved field procedures, collected soil samples, and participated in four publicly documented Colorado project contexts.

People and field foundation

Biogeotechnics is an independent company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Boulder Mushroom or the organizations involved in those prior projects. Those projects are presented as Galen Scott’s prior field experience, not as Biogeotechnics deployments, partnerships, sponsorships, or performance results.
